The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest donor to blood cancer research in the nation. They have invested over $1.7 billion in research and are leaders in advancing breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine. These revolutionary new treatments originally discovered through blood cancer research are now being tested in clinical trials for other cancers. While there has been phenomenal progress, there is still so much more to be done. Cancer is still one of the leading causes of death in children and young adults. Cancer treatments for adults are so harsh on the adult body, but children have to go through the same treatments as grown adults, this is one of the many things LLS is trying to change using the donations. Trying to find a new way to make treatments less harsh in pediatric patients.

               Hi there! My name is Nicole Arnold, I am a sophmore at Magnolia High School. I decided to be apart of LLS in memory of my relative. This mission is especially important to me personally because a few years ago my relative passed away from breast cancer. She has two daughters slightly older than myself. We lost my relative when I was younger but I’ll never forget her she is why I was inspired to become an LLS candidate, so others won’t have to go through what my cousins and mother did. She was my mothers best friend she was a kind genuine woman. My aunt and my mother both grew up in Lima, Peru they grew up surrounded by family so when she had passed it truly changed our families lives. Thank you for your support!
